Antine®:Ibuprofen Arginine Tablets

Antine®:Ibuprofen Arginine Tablets

Indications:

Toothache, dysmenorrhoea, traumatic pain (e.g. sports‑related injuries), joint and ligament pain, backache, headache, and fever associated with influenza.

Formulated with ibuprofen arginine — a water‑soluble salt formed by the combination of ibuprofen and the basic amino acid (L‑arginine), which delivers markedly accelerated disintegration and absorption rates. As a non‑steroidal anti‑inflammatory drug (NSAID), it exerts analgesic, anti‑inflammatory and antipyretic effects by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. The arginine‑salt formulation improves solubility and absorption speed, with onset of action generally occurring within 15‑30 minutes after administration.

In terms of gastrointestinal tolerability, L‑arginine acts as a nitric oxide (NO) precursor. It improves gastric mucosal microcirculation and stimulates the secretion of mucus and bicarbonate, thereby partially mitigating gastric wall injury induced by non‑steroidal anti‑inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Animal studies and some clinical observations indicate that at equivalent doses, ibuprofen arginine causes less gastric mucosal damage than conventional ibuprofen, with a relatively lower risk of gastrointestinal adverse reactions.
